Password generator: common questions
How long should a strong password be?
At least 16 characters with mixed types is a good target for important accounts. The strength meter shows the bits of entropy so you can see the difference.
Is it safe to generate passwords online?
Here, yes: passwords are created by your browser's secure random generator on your device and are never sent or stored. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads.
What does Avoid look-alikes do?
It leaves out characters that are easy to confuse, such as O and 0 or l and 1, which helps when you have to read or type the password by hand.
