How to use Bangla OCR

Turn a photo of a printed page, a scanned letter or a scanned PDF into editable Bangla and English text. Recognition runs on your own device, which matters for certificates, NID copies, office files and anything else you would rather not upload. The first run downloads about 10 MB of Bangla language data, and your browser keeps it for next time.

  1. 1

Drop your photos, scans or scanned PDFs onto the page.

  2. 2

Under Language, pick Bangla + English, Bangla or English.

  3. 3

For a single PDF, enter the pages to read or leave it blank for all, then click Start OCR.

  4. 4

Check and fix the text in the box, then click Copy text or Download .txt.

Bangla OCR: common questions

How accurate is Bangla OCR?

On clear, straight, well-lit printed pages it gets most words right, but it is not perfect, so check names and numbers before you use the text. Blurry photos, tilted pages and handwriting give much weaker results.

Can it read text from a scanned PDF?

Yes. Each PDF page is rendered and read one by one, and for a single PDF you can choose a page range such as 1-3, 5. You can also add several images and PDFs at once.

Is my document uploaded to a server?

No. The OCR engine and language data are downloaded to your browser, and your files are read on your device. Only the engine is fetched from the internet, never your document.
