How to use JSON to CSV
Turn JSON from an API or export into a table you can open in Excel or Google Sheets. Nested objects become dot keys like city.name, and you can pick which list to export when the array is inside an object. Add a UTF-8 BOM so Bangla text shows correctly in Excel.
- 1
Paste JSON, open a file, or drop one in.
- 2
If the array sits inside an object, choose it under Which list?
- 3
Pick a delimiter and tick Add UTF-8 BOM for Excel if needed.
- 4
Check the preview and click Download CSV.
JSON to CSV: common questions
Why does Bangla text look broken when I open the CSV in Excel?
Excel guesses the wrong encoding unless the file starts with a UTF-8 BOM. Tick Add UTF-8 BOM for Excel before downloading and Bangla will display correctly.
How are nested objects and arrays handled?
Nested objects become dot-named columns such as city.name. Arrays stay in one JSON cell unless you tick Spread nested arrays into columns, which gives tags.0, tags.1 and so on.
Can I use a semicolon instead of a comma?
Yes. Choose comma, semicolon or tab as the delimiter; semicolon suits Excel in regions that use a comma as the decimal mark.
