How to use CSV to JSON
Turn a spreadsheet export into JSON for an app, API or script. Comma, semicolon, tab and pipe files are detected automatically, and each row becomes an object keyed by the header row. Data is parsed in your browser, so customer lists and reports are never uploaded.
- 1
Paste CSV, open a file, or drop one in.
- 2
Check the options: delimiter, First row is the header, and Detect numbers and true/false.
- 3
Choose an indent or Minify.
- 4
Copy the JSON or click Download.
CSV to JSON: common questions
How do I convert an Excel sheet to JSON?
Save the sheet as CSV from Excel or Google Sheets (File → Save As or Download → CSV), then open that file here.
Will values like 007 or long IDs be changed?
No. Even with number detection on, values like 007 and long IDs stay as text so nothing is lost.
What if my CSV has no header row?
Turn off First row is the header and each row becomes an array of values instead of an object.
